Chad is a Partner with Hutchins & Haake, LLC, a firm based in Overland Park, KS. In addition to audit and review engagements, the firm specializes in business and personal taxation, personal financial planning and outsourced CFO services.
Chad's duties at the firm include the oversight of all attest work provided by the firm, business development and involvement in the firm's overall strategy and direction. Hutchins & Haake's clientele consist of non-public, privately held businesses in a variety of industries (primarily construction, manufacturing and wholesale/distribution with additional expertise in real estate and retail), as well as employee benefit plans and non-profits in a wide range of sizes.
Chad received his accounting degree from the University of Kansas in 2001. He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for the KSCPA. Additionally, Chad serves on the Board of Directors for the KSCPA Metro Chapter, and is the current Chapter President. He is also an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and has received the Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP) credential from the AICPA.
Chad was one of 37 individuals selected from across the U.S. for the 2013 AICPA Leadership Academy, and was a member of the 2011 class of the KSCPA’s "20 Up To 40” Leadership Program. Along with his wife, Gillian, Chad co-founded the McSwain Foundation, a non-profit created to benefit the Lawrence, KS fire department and community. He also served two years as chairman of a fundraising committee for the Gillis Home, a Kansas City non-profit serving 1,600 families each year.
Chad is an avid Jayhawks, Royals and Chiefs fan, and enjoys golf, running, classic cars and live jazz. Chad and his wife Gillian live in Lawrence with their daughter, Callaway, and son, James.
